WaterGirls & Sheep
IN 2006, we moved from the town life and into the country to raise our 4 WaterGirls.
These strong young WaterGirl farmers have worked with sheep, goats, cows, bees, pigs, and chickens.
Selling off sheep breeding stock and babies last year was a tough choice but with the increased cost of production...reduced income and field flooding we had to step back from the sheep and lambing industry.
...recently we rescued malnourished and neglected sheep. We Got This!
I guess the Big Man upstairs thought we needed these rescues just as much as they needed us!
We had just packed up our birthing supplies and equipment...because we just couldn't part with it. And when we realized that some of the rescued ewes were expecting...it was like Christmas going through and sanitizing each of the life-saving items to put back in our basket that we call the "birthing basket".
We're excited to see what the next few weeks bring as far as lambs. In years past, we would usually have contests for people on our Instagram and FaceBook pages- for people to guess the time and day of the upcoming ewe births.
We're hoping to do this again soon, so that we can have some fun giveaways!
